Position: Functional Integration Engineer – Powertrain Integration

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Up to £60,000

Role overview:

• Conduct independent development and benchmarking tasks.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, building strong relationships.
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot development test issues.
• Process and analyze large datasets to draw informed conclusions.
• Develop new and enhance existing test processes and methodologies based on scientific principles.
• Lead vehicle powertrain integration efforts, supporting testing on vehicles and dynos.
• Contribute to vehicle performance, fuel economy, and refinement improvements.

 About you:

• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in powertrain (OEM, Tier1 supplier, or consultancy).
• Proficiency in automotive hybrid powertrain systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical automotive systems.
• Background in automotive analysis or development.
• Experience in engine performance, economy, and emissions.
• Understanding of vehicle attribute engineering.
• Expertise in instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition equipment.
• Proficient in automotive calibration and data acquisition tools (ETAS INCA/MDA preferred).
• Project management experience (preferred).
• Good driving record with vehicle driveability assessment experience.
