Company Overview:
This global marine technology company has led the equipment development for subsea conservation for 50 years. Due to continued growth and funding, they are looking for a Graduate Electronics Design Engineer to work on the design of a range of systems. Your designs will help allow sustainable management of our oceans.
They are dedicated to innovation, continuously refining solutions, and exploring fresh applications and markets for their advanced technology.
Role overview:
You will be involved in designing new products for highly sensitive measurement devices and working on the complete development lifecycle from concept to product launch. The equipment will need to work in extremely harsh conditions and uses FPGA, signal process, sonar and radar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to product concept, development, prototyping, testing, and production support.
- Serve as an electronic design authority, focusing on electro-mechanical products.
- Support production releases, handle supply issues, and create design documentation.
- Familiarity with PCB layout for high-speed digital, EMI, and impedance matching.
Essential Skills:
- Understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical product development.
- Knowledge of analogue and digital design, including FPGAs and micro-controller/CPLD hardware.
- PCB design proficiency, covering high-speed signals and EMC considerations.
Desirable:
- Proficiency in CAD systems (OrCAD, Allegro, AutoCAD, Altium).
- Familiarity with CAD tools like MathCAD and MatLab.
- Knowledge of RoHS, WEEE EU directives, and EMC measurement techniques.
- Ability to write department procedures based on relevant standards.
