Salary – £62k base + commission from sales + EMI stock options
Location – Manchester- Hybrid Working – 1 day onsite.

A leading environmental technology company in Manchester is looking for a Senior Solutions Sales Engineer. This is a position for someone with a good knowledge of water networks/systems design, architecture, and maintenance. You’ll work closely with the Water Systems Director and CEO and have a significant impact on the growth of the company.
The AI-based systems are proven to save utility companies millions in repair costs, can find and drastically cut leaks, and allow for predictive maintenance spanning large sections of pipes.
The system has been developed in collaboration with Centre for Water Systems at the University of Exeter, the world-leading academic institution for water research impact.
The Role
Day-to-day, you’ll be the nexus point between customers and the engineering team.
You’ll be leading the creation of digital solutions for customers: identifying their pain points, listening to their feedback and working with them to find the most appropriate technology solution within our offering.
You’ll work with staff who are highly competent, friendly and focused on delivering class-leading environmental technologies to water companies.
Principal responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with water utilities globally and learning about their problems related to water efficiency (how they’re trying to reduce bursts and leaks) and positioning our solutions in the marketplace
- Onboarding new clients including networking, lead generation, supporting the bidding process, conveying technical ideas, to designing pilots
- Sharing feedback from customers with the wider team for future product development
Necessary skills, qualifications and experience:
- At least 7 years of experience working in the UK or Irish water sector
- Strong knowledge of water and/or wastewater systems (the general components of networks and how water/wastewater services are delivered)
- An existing knowledge of digital approaches to water network management or an ability to learn about such approaches through an existing knowledge of AI/predictive maintenance/data-driven approaches
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to sell solutions, build lasting rapport and effectively handle objections
Skills that would be helpful to have:
A Bachelor’s in a civil/water/geographical field
- A Bachelor’s in a civil/water/geographical field
- Hydraulic modelling/hydroinformatics expertise
