Senior Systems Engineer- ADAS
Wave Recruitment
Opportunity with a Growing Defence Company in Nuneaton (Robotics and ADAS!)
We are looking for an individual with a broad understanding of systems engineering for technically complex products. The role covers whole vehicle systems and requirements engineering, requiring knowledge of subsystems including software, electrical, and control systems.
Role Overview:
- Develop and maintain the systems design process through the complete design lifecycle, from requirements capture, design, and validation (V-Cycle) for defence-related robotic systems.
- Ensure customer and product requirements are captured and decomposed into well-defined engineering requirements that the team can design to.
- Collaborate with technical specialists to gain a deep understanding of the product and its design constraints.
- Work with the engineering team to ensure a balanced systems approach that meets customer requirements in terms of time, cost, quality, and performance (considering parameters such as electrical power, weight, and overall system performance).
- Manage the creation and approval of the system-level safety case.
- Ensure accurate definition of interfaces between mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems.
- Develop a test plan to ensure customer requirements are achieved across all levels of system design and validation phases.
- Support technical troubleshooting of delivered systems from a multidisciplinary perspective (hardware, electrical, and software).
- Ensure systems meet military environmental and reliability standards.
- Identify continual improvements to ensure design procedures are cost-effective and aligned with business/product needs.
- Assist in the generation of technical proposals.
Key Experience:
- 5+ years of industrial and technical experience in requirements management and systems engineering.
- Design experience in one or more domains: mechanical, electrical, or software.
- Experience in system-level safety cases.
- Experience in defining and delivering defence equipment.
This is a fantastic time to join the company as it scales production, develops new products, and expands the business. The work is engaging and focuses on the latest technologies.
Hybrid working is available, but due to the importance of this role within the systems team, it would be ideal if you could come on-site at least three times a week.
