Engineering Manager –  Analog Electronics

Job Specification:

Role overview:

Lead and scale the Analog Electronics Engineering team responsible for developing high-speed, analog, and mixed-signal electronics for advanced computing systems. Own the technical execution, delivery, and team performance, bridging technical strategy with resource planning, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration. Provide senior technical leadership while ensuring designs meet system performance, manufacturability, and business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a high-performing analog electronics team; recruit, coach, and retain top talent through career development and performance reviews

  • Drive execution using agile hardware development methods, balancing rapid iteration with reliability and manufacturability

  • Plan and allocate resources for PCB fabrication, assembly, and test fixture development

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across analog and mixed-signal subsystem design, including schematic reviews, layout, simulation, and bring-up

  • Partner with system architects to translate design intent into actionable engineering plans

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with ASIC, optical, firmware, and system reliability teams to ensure smooth system integration

  • Report program status, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders

  • Ensure engineering rigor, design quality, and adherence to sound analog design principles

Required skills & experience:

  • BEng/MEng or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field

  • 10+ years designing high-performance analog or mixed-signal hardware, with 3+ years leading engineering teams

  • Proven experience delivering complex electronics products from concept to volume manufacture

  • Deep expertise in low-noise, wide-bandwidth analog front-ends (TIA, LNA, ADC/DAC interface)

  • Strong knowledge of high-speed differential signalling, impedance control, and signal integrity mitigation

  • Hands-on experience with EDA and simulation tools (Altium, Cadence, Keysight ADS, Ansys, or similar)

  • Understanding of EMC/EMI, thermal management, and automated test strategies

  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage with specialists and executive audiences

Desirable experience:

  • Analog electronics for optical or high-speed computing systems

  • Experience in cross-functional hardware-software integration projects

Tools & methods:

  • EDA and simulation tools (Altium, Cadence, Keysight ADS, Ansys)

  • Signal integrity analysis and high-speed PCB layout techniques

  • Agile hardware development practices

  • Design for EMC/EMI, thermal management, and automated testing

What success looks like:

  • High-performance, manufacturable analog and mixed-signal designs delivered on time and to specification

  • Efficient, scalable engineering organisation with strong mentorship and technical leadership

  • Smooth integration of analog electronics with ASIC, optical, firmware, and system reliability teams

  • Clear communication of technical strategy, risks, and program progress to stakeholders
