Manager Product Engineering – Automotive
Role overview:
Lead and manage all aspects of product engineering for automotive semiconductor devices, overseeing new product introduction, ongoing production support, and cross-functional collaboration. This role provides strategic and technical leadership to ensure high-quality, high-performance products are delivered on time and at scale, while influencing international engineering teams.
Key responsibilities:

Hands-on technical management of new and established products within the Automotive MOSFET product line.

Lead new product introductions from definition and development through characterisation, qualification, and release.

Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, applications, and marketing teams to resolve product issues.

Define technical presentations, project updates, and status reports for internal stakeholders.

Liaise with wafer fabrication and package assembly teams in Europe and Asia to optimise yield and quality.

Review and define automotive product datasheets, technical specifications, and statistical test methods.

Drive continuous improvement in product engineering processes and methodologies.
Required skills & experience:
-
Strong experience in product engineering within power semiconductor environments.

Deep knowledge of discrete power MOSFET and trench MOS technologies.

Proven delivery of new products from definition to release.

Experience in yield optimisation and data-driven problem solving.
-
Ability to lead and influence international engineering teams.
Desirable experience:

Automotive qualification standards (AEC Q101).

MOSFET wafer and package test methodologies.
-
8D, FMEA, and structured quality processes.
Tools & methods:

Statistical yield management tools and data analysis software.
-
Automotive semiconductor test methods (wafer and package).
-
Standard engineering and reporting software.

Location: Newport, (Hybrid)
Salary: £120,000 per year + benefits
