Discrete Design Engineer
The Opportunity
Our client is an established semiconductor manufacturer with a strong track record in discrete power devices. The Glasgow wafer fab is at an exciting point, with significant ongoing investment positioning the site as a dedicated MOSFET product and development hub. You’ll be joining the design team with real ownership of device development and meaningful influence over how the function grows.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Device design and development — specification, design and development of new discrete MOSFET products, covering device physics, process simulation, layout and design of experiments
- Platform development — build and establish reusable process platforms and design rules to reduce time-to-market and maximise right-first-time outcomes
- Performance and yield improvement — provide technical input on manufacturability, reliability and yield as part of ongoing continuous improvement
- IP development — contribute to and protect the intellectual property portfolio through documentation and design reuse
- Cross-functional collaboration — work across Design, Process, Integration, Product and Production teams, and support resolution of customer technical issues
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in semiconductor device development or manufacturing
- Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline (postgraduate preferred)
- Strong understanding of MOSFET device physics and process interaction
- Experience with TCAD simulation tools (Silvaco, Synopsys or similar)
- Familiarity with CAD layout packages (KLayout, LEdit, Cadence or similar)
- Comfortable working in a wafer fab or cleanroom environment
Who This Is For
Engineers who want genuine ownership of their work in a well-funded, technically serious environment with experienced managers committed to your development. If you’re looking to do meaningful work with real impact on site capability, apply now.
