Systems/Functional Safety Engineer – Bicester
We are working with an SME that specialises in electric powertrains, drives, machines, and inverters for traction applications. With ongoing growth and new bespoke projects, we’re looking for a Systems / Functional Safety Engineer to join an innovative and motivated team based in Bicester.
You will be a key contributor to the development of advanced traction inverters for the automotive industry. Collaborating closely with the Systems & Control team, this role involves defining requirements, managing functional safety, and ensuring ISO 26262 compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Define inverter and motor requirements, including tests.
- Manage inverter requirements.
- Set functional safety requirements at all levels.
- Lead ISO 26262-compliant product development.
- Conduct safety analyses (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA).
- Support system tests (dyno and rig).
Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years in functional safety/systems engineering.
- ISO 26262 expertise.
- Safety analysis skills (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA).
- ASIL C/D traction inverter experience preferred.
